October 2005 - Beginings, on October 12

12

"Paint Tube #1" October 12, 2005. The very first in a personal goal of painting one painting per day, in the format of 5 x 7 inches or smaller, for an entire year. These small works are only available for one week on ebay. Contact Elin about this painting. $100

to Diane Morgan of Indian Wells, California

13

"Wrench #1" October 13, 2005. The second in the year-long "paint one painting a day" goal. I'm still working on other canvases, though. This 5 x 7 original oil. Contact Elin about this painting. $100

Available through my Ebay Store, where you can use several payment methods.

14 "Gala (Apple)" October 14, 2005. The third of the "postcard paintings" on my journey into expressive glimpses into ordinary things. I'm sure having fun with these. For sale for $100. Oh, yes. I ate the apple after I finished painting it. Original 4 x 6 canvas, gallery wrapped, painted on the sides, no frame needed!

15 "Can't Elope" October 15, 2005. Fourth in the "365-4-100" painting endeavor by yours truly. Of course, this was my dinner dessert! "I knew it well...", she said, before eating it. Original oil, 4 x 6 inches, gallery wrapped, painted on the sides, no frame needed!

16 "Cramp" (Paint tube #2) October 16, 2005. Fifth in the Daily Painting series. This tube of burnt sienna looked a tad bent out of shape... good for painting. Still good enough for using, too. But I'm not eating this one after painting it, unlike yesterday's. Contact Elin about this painting. $100

17 "It Ain't Easy Being Green" (Kiwi #1) Monday morning's painting (10/17), and delicious, too! Original oil on board, 5 x 7 inches. Contact Elin about this painting. $100

18 "Bats the Cat" I can't really do something very often without "Mr. Curious" showing up. This is Bats, who has been featured on the Hasbro puzzle boxes and also in several book paintings. My daily painting for October 18. Original oil on canvas, 4 x 6 inches, gallery wrapped, painted on the sides, no frame needed! Contact Elin about this painting. $100

19 "Fuji, CHOMP!" This was my breakfast and daily painting on Wednesday morning, October 19, but before I finished it, I had to enjoy it another way. Original oil on stretched canvas, 4 x 6 inches. Contact Elin about this painting. $100

20 "Stray Cat #1" Taking on a new concern, I picked the idea of a stray, homeless cat and put him in my painting for today. Looks like a Himalayan type. Contact Elin about this painting. $100

21 "Red Pear #1" Fall fruits are in the stores, and this red pear was asking to be painted! Original oil on canvas, 7 x 5 inches.

22 "Fig and Jade Plant" Even during the Open Studio Tour today, I was able to make time to paint this little fig from our tree, and a piece of jade plant from the front yard. Original oil, 5 x 7, another daily painting. Contact Elin about this painting.

to Erdna Mugbumps of Oak View, Calfiornia

23 "Fig Bite" Daily painting for October 23, 2005. After painting that fig and jade plant cutting yesterday, I looked at the fig and...well, here's the end result. Good, I have to tell you, those Mission figs, especially home-grown organic! Original oil 5 x 7 inches. Contact Elin about this painting.

to collector Ramie Little of Atlanta, Georgia

24 "End of Summer" Daily painting for October 24, 2005. This is a part of a watermelon that I bought for the Open Studio snack plate, but this portion of the seedless delight never made it to the tray! Original oil on canvas, 5 x 7 inches.

25

"Last Rose" Daily painting for October 25, 2005. This is one of the buds, a Chicago Peace rose, from the garden outside my studio. One of the last blooms of the season. Original oil on 6 x 4 canvas, gallery wrapped, painted on the sides, no frame needed! Contact Elin about this painting.

to Juliet Harrison of Red Hook, New York

26 "Sunflowers" Original 4 x 6 oil painting on gallery-wrap canvas. I love painting florals in good northern light! Contact Elin about this painting.

27 "Coastal Live Oak Twig" Daily Painting for October 27, 2005. This tree grew from a volunteer acorn outside my studio door. It is not ten years old, with a trunk about three inches thick now. Quercus Agrifolia is the Latin name for this magnificent tree. Original oil, 4 x 6 inches, on gallery-wrap canvas.

to collector John Wickham of Los Angeles, California

28 "Pomegranate" Orignal oil on gallery-wrap (no frame needed), 5 x 7 inches. Fall harvest means trees abound with this wonderful fruit. I cut one and set it up for a portrait.

29 "Rose #2" Another fall rose shows up in my garden. Original oil, 6 x 4 inches.

30 "Rose #3" The first rose, a few days later, in full bloom. Different tape tho'. Original oil on canvas 7 x 5 inches. Contact Elin about this painting. $100

31 "View from my Studio, Evening" My painting a day for October 31 is this evening view of the light across the California foothills, looking north. You can see the road coming in on the lower right. Original acrylic, 5 x 7 inches. Contact Elin about this painting.
